John Turner BSc MRICS   Chair of Trustees

 

A Chartered Surveyor with 25 years experience managing Rural Estates for Private clients as well as 10 years working for The National Trust managing the Jewel in their crown 'The Stourhead Estate' in Wiltshire,welcoming over 250,000 visitors a year to the stunning 17th Century English Landscape Garden designed and built by the private banker Sir Henry Hoare.

With a passion for conserving and protecting our treasured landscapes as well as a detailed eye for the repair and upkeep of our traditional farm buildings

20013 - Present  - Rose Castle project Cumbria

 

2013 - Present   - Lowther Castle & Gardens Trust. £9m Restoration project of Lowther Gardens and Castle with 55,000 visitors enjoying the new opportunities to explore and engage with the work  of the Trust, the gardens having been hidden from public view for over 50 years.

 

 

 

 

 

Victoria Lancaster MA MRICS   Trustee

 

A Chartered Surveyor with a range of cross sector experience in the north of England.  Speciality areas include planning, environment and conservation, renewable energy, and a thorough knowledge of National Parks and protected area legislation. 

 

Victoria was a Secretary of State-appointed member of the Lake District National Park for four years and latterly Deputy Chairman.  She has represented the Park on a number of regional bodies and panels including Cumbria Tourism, the RA and the Sustainable Development Fund. 

 

Currently working in the commercial sector for land agents H&H Land and Property, Victoria is a passionate advocate of heritage conservation, particularly in the context of enhancing rural landscapes and their sustainability.
